Maruti Extended Warranty

It’s a written guarantee from the manufacturers to repair or replace defective parts for a limited period. A warranty is a legal document.

What is Extended Warranty

It’s a special warranty given to Maruti customers for certain crucial parts of the car on a payment of a small amount.

✔ Any vehicle manufactured by Maruti will be eligible for warranty coverage (primary warranty) for 2 years or 40,000 km, whichever comes earlier.
✔ Customers have the option of extending the warranty (primary warranty) to the Third Year / 60,000 km or Fourth Year / 80,000 km by paying a nominal amount.
✔ Validity of the Extended Warranty would be as per the plan chosen by the customer.
✔ There are two options – Plan 1 & Plan 2.

Coverage

✔ Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic Components: Engine, transmission, steering, suspension, fuel system, brake system, air conditioning, electrical components, ECM, etc.

✔ Not Covered: Radiator, differential backlash, humming noises, tyres, batteries, periodic maintenance items like oils, filters, spark plugs, body parts, clutch, etc.

✔ Limited Coverage: Suspension, steering, AC compressor & drive shaft covered for 60,000 km only.

Limitations and Conditions

✔ The vehicle must not have been used for competition or racing.
✔ The vehicle must not have met with an accident.
✔ The vehicle must not have been modified or altered, including without limitation, the installation of performance accessories.
✔ The vehicle must not have been fitted with any parts or accessories not approved by Maruti.
✔ The vehicle must not have been assembled, disassembled, adjusted, or repaired by anyone other than an authorized dealer/service station.
✔ The vehicle must not have been used for a purpose other than what it was designed for.
✔ Any damage or deterioration caused by industrial pollution and bird droppings.
✔ Insignificant defects which do not affect the function of the vehicle, including without limitation, sound, vibration, and fluid seep, etc.
✔ Any natural wear & tear, including without limitation, aging, etc.
✔ A vehicle externally fitted with LPG & CNG kits cannot be covered under an extended warranty.
✔ In case LPG/CNG is company fitted, the vehicle can be covered under an extended warranty.

List of Components Not Covered

✔ Normal maintenance service required, including without limitation, oil and fluid changes, headlight aiming, fastener retightening, wheel balancing, wheel alignment and tire rotation, cleaning of injectors, adjustment of the carburetor, ignition timing, clutch, and valve clearance.
✔ The replacement of normal wear parts, including without limitation, bulbs, battery, tires, tubes, spark plugs, brake linings, internal parts of the brake master cylinder, belts, hoses, filters, wiper blades, and brushes.
✔ Any seals and gaskets replaced or refitted as part of normal schedules.
✔ Clutch, radiator, catalytic converter, muffler, and differential backlash under any circumstances.
✔ Humming noise in any component.
✔ Replacement of timing belts as per the recommended interval.
✔ Trims, wheel rims, rubber parts, tires & tubes, glass machine, all body parts, etc.
✔ Any repair or replacement required as a result of an accident or collision.
✔ Paintwork, bodywork, and moldings, water entry into the vehicle, corrosion of body parts, glass,

How to Make a Claim

✔ Immediately take all steps necessary to minimize the extent of loss.

✔ Depending on whether the vehicle is in a condition enabling it to be driven, the owner shall drive it or have it towed, without delay, to the nearest Maruti Dealer at their own cost to effect repair according to the dealer/Maruti’s requirements and to notify the dealer of this warranty contract number.

✔ Authorize the dealer to establish the cause of the breakdown.

✔ Undertake to pay the cost of dismantling and repairing the vehicle if the cause of the breakdown is not covered by this warranty. The owner is responsible for paying for any other work that they ask the repairer to carry out.

✔ The service record and service bills must be made available to the workshop personnel.

Owner's Warranty Responsibility

✔ The vehicle must have been serviced as per the guidelines in the service manual from an authorized dealer/Maruti authorized service station.
✔ Ensure that the extended warranty registration was completed at the time of applying for the extended warranty.
✔ The Maruti authorized dealer/service station performing the service inspection must certify the work on the ‘Maintenance Service Record’ page in the Maruti Owner’s manual and Service Booklet.
✔ Present the Maruti Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet to the authorized Maruti dealer whenever requesting service inspections or warranty service.
✔ If the ‘Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet’ is lost or destroyed, consult the authorized Maruti dealer from whom the vehicle was purchased for instructions on replacement.

Zero Depreciation Policy

✔ Another thing, you cannot add it at a later stage. Either you go for it now or the next option is only at the time of renewal. Also, you can go for it only till your vehicle is 30 months old.

✔ We have customers who did not opt for it initially and wanted to pay even double the premium to buy it when there was a claim. But unfortunately, it is not permitted in between like other endorsements.

✔ With Zero Dep. Policy you are fully covered – only policy excess and small charges for consumables would be payable which is mandatory as per tariff.
